Getting Started

How do I give ContactPDF access to my contacts?

Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Contacts and enable ContactPDF. The app will also prompt you on first launch with an explanation before requesting access.

Why does the app show no contacts or a blank list?

Contacts permission is likely denied. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Contacts and make sure ContactPDF is enabled. If you previously denied access, you’ll need to re-enable it there, the app cannot prompt a second time once permission is denied.

What devices and operating system versions are supported?

ContactPDF requires iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or later. It is also available on Mac (macOS 26 or later) via the same universal App Store purchase, no separate download needed.

Exporting

How do I choose which contacts to include?

On the main contact list, tap contacts to select them individually. Use the filter button to filter by group, company, or label. When you’re ready, tap Generate PDF.

Can I choose which fields appear in my PDF?

Yes. Tap the filter/settings icon before generating to toggle individual fields on or off: phone, email, address, organization, job title, birthday, note, and photo.

What page sizes are available?

US Letter (8.5" × 11") and A4 (210mm × 297mm). You can set your preferred default in Settings, or change it before each export.

How do I print directly from the app?

On the PDF preview screen, tap the Share button and choose Print, or tap the Print button in the toolbar. ContactPDF supports AirPrint with any compatible printer.

Can I import contacts from a vCard (.vcf) file?

Yes. Tap the import button on the contact list to open a .vcf file from Files app. Imported contacts are used only for that PDF session, they are never added to your system Contacts app.

Templates

What PDF templates are included?

Three templates ship with ContactPDF:

  • Classic, two-column card layout with photos, alphabetical section headers. Best for general use and networking.
  • Compact, three-column layout, no photos, maximum contacts per page. Best for emergency contact sheets and event rosters.
  • Directory, full contact details with generous spacing. Best for formal printed directories and office use.

Purchases

What’s included in the free version?

All three templates, every field option, and full PDF design quality, for up to 25 contacts per export. Upgrading unlocks unlimited contacts per PDF.

How do I restore a previous purchase?

Open the Settings screen (gear icon) and tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and will be restored automatically.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the App Store > tap your profile photo > Subscriptions > ContactPDF > Cancel Subscription. Apple manages all subscription billing; ContactPDF cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf.
